| Description |
- Coordinate and facilitate the Unified Indoor Bocce intramural program for students in grades 6–8 during an 8–10 week season.
- Schedule and supervise practices and games one or two times per week, ensuring students participate for a minimum of 75 minutes each week.
- Recruit and support student participation by maintaining the required balance of Special Olympics-eligible athletes and students without intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Organize and manage Unified Sports teams, coordinating a minimum of two teams and, when appropriate, expanding the program to four to six teams with equal representation of participating student groups.
- Promote an inclusive athletic environment that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, friendship, respect, and meaningful participation for all students.
- Complete required Special Olympics Pennsylvania training, including the free Unified Sports online course and any additional required training.
- Manage program logistics and documentation, including equipment, schedules, rosters, communication, attendance, and other responsibilities associated with the Unified Sports program.
- Establish and facilitate an Inclusive Youth Leadership Club comprised of students with and without intellectual disabilities, with meetings occurring at least once or twice per month.
- Develop student leadership opportunities that empower students with and without disabilities to work collaboratively in planning and leading activities that promote acceptance, respect, and inclusion.
- Facilitate a minimum of four whole-school engagement activities planned and conducted by the Inclusive Youth Leadership Club to improve school climate and promote respect and acceptance.
- Collaborate with school staff and Special Olympics Pennsylvania personnel to access program resources, materials, technical support, and activity ideas to strengthen Unified Sports and inclusive leadership initiatives.
- Promote and support a culture of inclusion throughout the school, encouraging student voice, belonging, acceptance, and meaningful participation for all students.
