Candidate must have expereince coaching the fundamentals of golf. It is prefered that the candidate has experience coaching interscholastic sports at the secondary level. The candidate must be available Monday-Friday for practices and matches. Some matches may start as early as 2:00pm. The season runs from August 11th through the first or second week of October.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide a learning environment that allows players to learn new skills and reinforce established skills to improve. An assistant coach of each sport has the responsibility of carrying on the sport in the best interest of the school district by adhering to the policies and regulations of the Pottsgrove Board of Directors, as well as the practices and procedures of the school administration. Further, an assistant coach should have a working knowledge of Pottsgrove School District and the rules and regulations of the Pottsgrove Athletic Department, Pioneer Athletic Conference and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinate skill development, program philosophy, and equipment management. 2. Coordinate match, practice, and transportation schedules with the Athletic Director. 3. Design and supervise practices and matches; provide supervision at all times while on the golf course. 4. Obtain and return transportation vehicle provided for matches; transport players to and from the matches. 5. Promote the golf team and recruit players through informational meetings at the school and through annual fund raising golf outing. 6. Compile database statistics for all Junior Varsity golfers. 7. Coordinate Junior Varsity practice and golf match schedules with the Twin Ponds golf course. 8. Research instructional methods and tools to use with players. 9. Assist with PAC 10 Individual Championships. 10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma is necessary
Experience in the game of golf is required
PAY:
$4,050 for the season |
